Monster Hunter International - Texas Division
Chupacabra – “Demon-lizard-insect thing” that hops about like a “demented miniature kangaroo.”
Ghoul – “Think of it as a super zombie on crack. Much smarter, much faster, way harder to stop. Luckily they’re rare, which is a good thing because the one in this picture soaked up about two hundred rounds before it finally quit kicking. Head shots don’t usually work, though they tend to slow them down. Your best bet is to hammer them until you break down their skeletal structure to the point where they just can’t fight anymore. Then burn them to be sure. They’re usually found around cemeteries, as they’re carrion feeders.” PUFF – $20,000.
La Lechuza – La Lechuza is a witch bird born out of a pact with the devil. In the 1600’s, witches were persecuted and hundreds of thousands of women were tried and convicted as being witches. They were killed off in many different ways including stoning, hanging, but the most popular was burning at the stake.
The women that truly did practice black magic made a pact with the devil at the moment of death and were granted a reprieve and increased power as well as the ability to shift into giant owls. They mainly go after thieves, the unfaithful and small children outside after dark and are attracted to loud noises. /lechuza02.jpg(Lechuza02)!Their gaze is strong enough to cause bodily harm and victims have claimed to have woken up to bruises on their bodies and scratches on their doors from where the creature tried to enter but was ignored. Their gaze can also inflict illness if the victim gazes into their eyes and on the rare occasion that the victim is of little or weak will, the gaze can cause death. When stalking a victim, the Lechuza will let out a high pitched whistle and what is said to irritate it and cause it to attack instantly is if the victim whistles back. The sightings for some odd reason seem to be in Texas where sighting still continue to happen. The Lechuza is an intelligent creature and has been known to follow people that are related or even know their victim if only to know more about the victim. PUFF – $20,000 – $50,000. (Entry by Simon – awarded 3 Bonus XP)
Vampires – They appear to be normal except when they are feeding. They are super strong, super tough and get tougher with age. Steak them through the heart, then cut off their head. Crosses don’t work unless you really believe. Silver and fire are both uncomfortable for them. PUFF – Depends on lineage, age, and activity; capped at $500,000.
Vampire, Master – Thankfully very rare vampires. They are very old and damn near impossible to kill. All the normal stuff applies, but they can also hypnotize, fly, see in the dark, hear your heart beat, and disappear. Kill it if you can. Otherwise, try really hard not to die. PUFF – Depends on lineage, age, and activity; capped at $3,000,000.
Werewolf – Silver hurts them. They regenerate like crazy but it uses up fuel. New pups take longer to transform but have zero control over their aggression. Cut off the head to be sure of death. PUFF for a newly blooded adult werewolf – $50,000.
Wight – “Toughest of the zombie family, appearing to be a normal man except for his horribly distorted visage, sharp, black teeth and red eyes. Their touch causes immediate paralysis, even through armor. It wears off quickly, but by then it’s usually too late. They can be insanely strong. Use a Flamethrower. Don’t fight high-level undead without one.” PUFF depends on the age, between $20,000 and $50,000.
Zombies – slow ones – Kill the brain or do enough damage to stop them. Their bite turns you into a zombie. Do not pass go. Do not collect PUFF. PUFF – $5,000 a head depending on the outbreak.
